Source code for this website, built with Astro and MDX and hosted on AWS Amplify.

FeaturedMy Blog

This website has gone through a few different versions over the years. It ran on WordPress until 2020 and on Gatsby until 2026, and the current version is built around Astro, MDX, and a design system that is simple enough to maintain without feeling too bare.

Astro renders every post, note and project page to static HTML at build time, and AWS Amplify hosts the result. There is no frontend framework: search and the other interactive bits are small scripts on top of the static pages.

What I like about having my own site is that it gives me a place to experiment with layout, content structure, and small product decisions without needing a larger justification. It is a good home for blog posts, notes, and now project pages as well.

Like most long-running personal projects, it also acts as a record of how my preferences change over time. Some parts of it are about writing, some are about design, and some are simply about having a stable place on the web that I fully control.

This repo is less about a single feature and more about shaping an environment where different bits of work can live together coherently.
